hey what's up! you can call me hedj, myco, vespa, whatever you want honestly. i am not picky. i'm 23 years old and pretty much a hobbit. this is a personal blog where i post art and reblog things, etc.

i'm into stuff like webcomics, video games, Pokemon, The Protomen, mushrooms, music, deep sea life, crafting, and drawing.

i also post about social justice stuff sometimes, like feminism, racism, and LGBTQI issues. it's by no means the main focus of my blog, but if it gets on your nerves, you might not want to follow me.

i don't post nsfw stuff often, and when i do i tag it accordingly. but this blog has a lot of swears. i have a potty mouth. hwoops

frequently used tags:

rapidly flashing or blinking gifs will be tagged #epilepsy warning or #seizure warning!

Post with 1 note

a question for all you artsy folks out there!!

Lately it’s become more and more clear that I am in need of a new scanner. like, really really badly. But I don’t know what kind of scanner to look for, since it’s been forever since i’ve bought one (and all of mine have been bought used anyway). So my question is, do any of you guys have any scanner recommendations? I need it to be able to scan color artwork as well as black and white. I dream of having a large-format scanner someday, though i don’t think i’ll be able to find one that’s within my budget right now u-u but any pointers or recommendations are welcome and needed!

(also… this is going to sound like a dumb question, but does anyone have any tips on how to scan and edit artwork without having it come out looking like absolute ass? like is there a guide somewhere or like… idk, i just seem to have this perpetual problem where i can’t get anything to look right no matter how much i fiddle with it. my watercolors constantly end up looking overexposed and grainy, and when it comes to marker drawings, i either have to sacrifice color fidelity so the blacks look good, or preserve the color somewhat but wind up with dark/inked areas looking like static on an old TV. i am kind of at my wits’ end here so if anyone has any advice i would be eternally grateful)
